Find an Eye Care Professional by Location/Services

( * Required fields )

Searching for an eye care professional doesn't guarantee your eligibility or coverage. Cigna Vision Network eye care professionals will contact Cigna Vision to check your eligibility. If there's a conflict between this information and your organization's contract with Cigna Vision, the terms of the contract prevail.

All Cigna Vision Network eye care professionals must provide access to emergency services 24 hours a day, seven days a week and cannot discriminate against the hearing impaired, developmentally challenged and/or physically challenged.

Cigna Vision contracted eye care professionals allow full and equal access to covered services, including insureds with disabilities as required under the federal Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

As a Cigna Vision customer you can access language interpreter services at no cost. Call Customer Service at 1-877-478-7557. For interpreter services at the time of your appointment, tell the eye care professional's office that you need an interpreter when scheduling your appointment.

Timely Access to Care
Cigna is committed to providing you access to care on a timely basis. We follow these standards for access as established by the State of California. If you are not provided care within the following timeframes, please call the number on the back of your Cigna ID card and assistance will be provided to ensure you receive timely access to care.

Routine Vision Access Standards

  • Routine (non-urgent) Appointments - within 30 calendar days
  • Urgent Appointments - within 48 hours
  • For Connecticut residents - within 15 calendar days
Cigna continually assesses the provider network to ensure adequate access for members. Cigna's access standard is two providers in a 10-mile radius urban/suburban and one provider in a 15-mile radius for rural. Cigna utilizes reports to analyze and determine the percentage of members that will have access to a provider within a specified distance. Cigna runs specific reports to determine if standards are being met and whether to apply appropriate interventions when gaps are identified.

Cigna develops our network expansion plans annually after carefully assessing and reviewing client and geographic market needs. We use a variety of resources including Geographic Access Reports and input from our market teams. All eye care professionals participating in the Cigna Routine Vision Network undergo a review of their qualifications in accordance with Cigna's credentialing requirements, including education and training, licensure status, current professional liability insurance and malpractice history.

What does a doctor need to do to be in the Cigna Vision network?
Before joining the Cigna network of contracted doctors, health care professionals must meet Cigna standards through a process called credentialing. We regularly review doctors' credentials to ensure they continue to meet these standards.

VSP recredentials doctors within thirty-six (36) months of the prior credentialing date[i] in accordance with state and federal requirements and NCQA guidelines.

[i] Virginia state regulations require recredentialing within 3 years of the day (date) of the prior credential.
